Palace Bridge placed across the Neva river near the Winter Palace and Dvortsovaya Square. It connects the Admiralteiskii area of the city with Vasilievsky Island. During summer months (May - November), the central section composed of two wings, traditionally opens during the night to allow shipping traffic to pass.
